Maruti Suzuki Omni High Roof | Movie 'Irupatham Noottandu'

One of the earliest and most versatile cars to grace Indian streets was the Maruti Omni. Originally known as the Suzuki Carry, this iconic van transitioned into its seventh generation before being rebadged and renamed the Maruti Omni. With over 15 million satisfied customers, the Omni brought immense joy to its users and became a symbol of practicality for many families and businesses alike.

Launched in 1984, the Maruti Omni featured a compact yet reliable 796 cc inline-three engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. This powertrain remained unchanged throughout the Omni’s production run. The van's sliding doors and hatchback design offered unmatched convenience and accessibility, making it a favorite for both personal and commercial use.

A glimpse of the Maruti Suzuki Omni High Roof can even be spotted in the 1987 Malayalam-language film Irupatham Noottandu.
