Force Motors, earlier known as Bajaj Tempo, launched the Minidor in 1996. It was the first vehicle developed using the company’s new Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) tools after upgrading its R&D in 1992. The Minidor came in pick-up and auto-rickshaw models, with the auto-rickshaw becoming one of the most popular three-wheelers in India.
Known as ‘tum-tum’ or ‘share auto’ in some regions, the Minidor dominated the market for years. In 2005, Bajaj Tempo was renamed Force Motors, and the vehicle was rebranded as the Force Minidor, remaining in production until 2010.
The Minidor also gained cultural significance, appearing in the Marathi movie De Dhakka, particularly in the song Vat Chalavi Chalavi, showcasing its iconic status.
