Mahindra Voyager | Movie 'Ustaad'

The Voyager was essentially based on the Mitsubishi L300 minivan, utilizing Mahindra aggregates.

The L300 debuted in Japan in 1984 and was subsequently replaced by the Delica van in 1994. Components for the Voyager were sourced externally, comprising body panels from Mitsubishi and Samcor, roof and floor panels from Japan, and side and door panels from Samcor.

The sliding door arrangement, tailored for right-hand configuration, was obtained from South Africa, where the L300 was being manufactured at the time. Powering the Voyager was M&M's Peugeot XD3 engine paired with a BA10 5-speed gearbox. The ex-showroom price for the Voyager in Mumbai was ₹5.60 lakhs, with an additional ₹25k for the AC model.

The Mahindra Voyager you see here made its appearance in the Malayalam movie Ustaad (1999), starring Mohanlal.
